Join us as we discuss how we’ll continue to offer valuable insights and entertainment to our listeners, leveraging our experiences and those of others for shared learning.
A Warm Welcome from Your Host
Hi, I’m Donna Kendrick, the owner of Sephton Financial and the founder of our podcast. I’m also the author of “A Guide to Widowhood: Navigating the First Three Years with Your Heart, Soul, and Finances Intact” and “A Guide for Blended Families: Merging Assets and Navigating Financial Challenges.” As your podcast host, I’m thrilled to guide you through this new chapter of Widow Wisdom and Wealth.
Our Podcast’s Journey
When we first launched, our focus was on providing financial guidance with an educational twist, catering especially to those in transition—widowers, divorcees, and blended families. Our approach was practical, addressing issues like taxes, end-of-year decisions, and the early days of loss.
Jim’s Role and Our Evolution
A few years after starting the podcast, my husband Jim joined me. A carpenter by trade, Jim provided a refreshing perspective, keeping our conversations grounded and accessible to all listeners. He reminded us of our mission to speak directly to those navigating challenging financial and personal transitions.
A Personal Tale of Transformation
Rewind to years ago when I first met Jim—while renovating my home after my husband Gregory’s passing. Jim witnessed my journey from widowhood to re-establishing my career and redefining my family. These experiences planted the seeds for our podcast’s transformation.
Our New Mission
As we adapt, Widow Wisdom and Wealth will dive into real-life experiences. We’ll explore thriving in careers and parenthood after loss, offering insights from others who have walked this path. Our goal is to showcase stories of resilience, adaptation, and success, driven by personal journeys and shared wisdom.
Engaging with Our Community
Expect to hear from more than just me. We’ll feature diverse voices—widows, widowers, and experts—who’ll share their stories, advice, and the lessons they’ve learned. We’ll discuss career changes, support systems, and dealing with life after loss.
Navigating Challenges Together
Our podcast will explore crucial topics like blending families, managing finances, and navigating the complexities of grief and growth. We’ll extract “golden nuggets” from discussions, offering practical advice on balancing careers and parenting as sole caregivers.
Special Guests and Insights
Expect conversations with those thriving in career and parenthood after loss. We want to share thesis stories as inspiration to others who may be in the early states of loss. We will also have estate attorneys, accountants, and personal management experts to tackle some of the complex topics and real-life scenarios, like budgeting and negotiating family dynamics, providing listeners with actionable tools and strategies.
Empowering Our Listeners
Whether you’re in widowhood, parenting, or navigating divorce, our stories aim to show you’re not alone. By sharing authentic journeys and insights, we hope to offer comfort and community to all listeners.
Join us as we embark on this new podcast journey. We’re excited to bring abundance and joy to your lives, offering a platform for genuine storytelling and shared wisdom. Let’s continue to learn, grow, and support each other through life’s transitions. Thank you for tuning in!
